Ben Brewer, Ph.D. is a Research Scientist for the Center of Biostatistics and Health Data Science. He recently graduated from the Kansas University Medical Center, where his research focused on ROC-based methods for cutoff estimation under tree and umbrella ordering settings. He also has over seven years of experience serving as a biostatistician in collaborative research environments across a wide variety of subject settings, including sleep health, nutrition, exercise science, autism spectrum disorders, maternal health, pediatric cardiology, and more. He has never come across a research question that he found to be dull or trivial and is humbled to have the opportunity to learn about the scientific disciplines he supports statistically. He is fluent in R, SAS, and MATLAB and competent with SPSS, Stata, SQL, and JMP. Since 2018, he has mentored the statistical development of nearly a dozen Ph.D. students, authored or co-authored forty research publications, and both written and been supported by several research grants.
