Center for Biostatistics and Health Data Science (CBHDS) Director Alexandra Hanlon, Assistant Director Alicia Lozano, and Research Scientist Emmanuel Nartey, presented during two sessions at the Eastern North American Region (ENAR) International Biometric Society Spring Meeting March 23-26 in New Orleans, LA. 

"Advancing Mid-Level Collaborative Biostatisticians in Historically Marginalized Groups: Challenges, Recommendations, and Strategies," organized by Dr. Hanlon, featured panelists Adrian Coles (Biogen) and Gina-Maria Pomann (Duke University).

"Focusing on the Role of the Biostatistician in the Era of Data Science," presented by Dr. Hanlon, highlighted key industry development skill sets, including essential skills for biostatistics groups, such as effective strategies for successful management, diversification of portfolios, defined scope, standardized analysis workflows, and the importance of peer review. 

The 2025 ENAR Spring Meeting theme was “ENAR is Interdisciplinary." This theme focused on the biological and quantitative sciences, and collaboration within the field to problem solve mathematical and statistical rigor solutions. Discourse of fostering an inclusive environment was discussed throughout the conference, in continued industry efforts to bring new perspectives to the profession.
